Easter, then and now

So, when I was a kid Easter was the big floral holiday for my parents. Drivers would have boxes and boxes of corsages to deliver..... cymbidiums, cattleyas, sweetheart roses, and more.

Thinking this is why I have a fondness for spray cymbidiums now......absolutely love all the colors and countless ways we can be creative. I wish my parents could have seen the sprays of cymbidiums we now have, as a former nursery grower my Dad would have been impressed. Easter gradually faded as a major floral holiday, as tradition and times changed, but the cymbidiums have evolved as one of our favorite flowers.

If you have a chance to visit the Kaplan Orchid Conservatory at Odu. The Kaplan's were the parents of the smartest dude in
my high school class , Harvey.
